Environmental Project Officer – NCAP

Job Description

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Visit different areas within municipal limits for inspection and documentation.
  • Monitor air quality data and identify pollution sources.
  • Help prepare Air Quality Management Plans.
  • Coordinate with different government departments.
  • Attend official meetings, workshops, and review meetings.
  • Prepare Minutes of Meeting (MoM).
  • Maintain daily records of environmental actions taken by KDMC.
  • Assist in preparing EOI (Expression of Interest) for vendor selection.
  • Support in finalizing vendors for pollution control projects.
  • Organize public awareness programs and workshops.
  • Work closely with local, state, and central government authorities.

Eligibility: 

  • Experience in NCAP or similar government projects will be preferred.
  • Good communication and report writing skills in Marathi and English (written and spoken).
  • Basic knowledge of NCAP guidelines, environmental laws, air pollution rules, air quality standards, monitoring method and data handling.
  • Ability to work and coordinate with government officials and different departments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently coordinate and manage Category A & B projects under Sector 1/38/39/21 in accordance with applicable environmental regulations and NABET requirements.
  • The candidate must have independently represented projects before EAC/SEAC/SEIAA/MCZMA committees, Public Hearing and demonstrated proficiency in effectively addressing technical queries related to the project and Environmental Management Plan (EMP). The candidate should be well versed in execution and management of projects pertaining to the above-mentioned sectors.
  • The candidate shall be independently responsible for preparation and handling of Form 1, Terms of Reference (ToR), Pre-Feasibility Reports (PFR), EIA/EMP reports, Environmental Clearance (EC) applications, baseline data generation, report preparation, data verification/analysis, and coordination of public hearings.
  • The candidate shall be responsible for supervising and verifying field data collection activities, ensuring data quality, and integrating primary and secondary data for project assessment and reporting.
  • Coordinate effectively with Functional Area Experts (FAEs) to ensure timely incorporation of technical inputs and compliance requirements into project reports.
  • Monitor project schedules and ensure all deliverables are completed and submitted in accordance with NABET QMS standards and internal SOPs.
  • Contribute to the training and capacity building of team members and interns, while supporting business development and client engagement activities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between clients, the MoEF&CC, SEIAA/SEAC, MCZMA and internal teams.
  • Experience in EIA regulatory processes and legislation, with sound knowledge of environmental impacts arising from proposed projects and developmental activities.
  • Planning and conduct kick-off meetings and maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, experts, and internal teams.
  • Strong planning and communication skills with the ability to effectively identify, analyze, and resolve project-related challenges for successful project execution.
  • Excellent technical report writing and drafting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power-Point & Word.

  Eligibility: 

  • Must be a NABET Accredited EIA Coordinator for Sector 1/38/39/21/(CatA/B)
  • Expert-level knowledge of the EIA Notification 2006, sector Specific guidelines, CRZ Rules, latest Office Memorandums (OMs), and landmark Court Orders and its applicability
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and stakeholder interactions.
